Import custom fields into QuickBooks

You can import custom fields from text files or Excel spreadsheets directly into QuickBooks using the Zed Axis software. Download and install the Zed Axis software on your computer.

  1. Open your QuickBooks company file as Administrator and open Zed Axis
  2. Select your text file or spreadsheet which contains the custom fields that you want to import.
  3. Set up the a Mapping of the columns in your custom fields import file to the corresponding fields in QuickBooks
  4. Click Import and your custom fields will be directly added to your QuickBooks company file:

      Sample Custom Field Import File

       QuickBooks field Format  Description 
       DataExtName Str 31 Name or label for the custom field 
       ListDataExtType Enum  The type of list must be either (Account, Customer, Employee, Item, OtherName, Vendor) 
       Full Name Str 159 The list name or item ie account name, cusotmer name, employee name etc..  
       DataExtValue Str  The custom field value (max 255)
