How to install Zed Midi

Before installing Midi you will need to ensure that you have the following:

• You have a supported version of QuickBooks installed (QuickBooks 2007 upwards)
• You have a supported USB Barcode Scanner.
• You have installed a version of Microsoft SQL Express
• You have a version of Microsoft Mobile Device Center installed.

Install the Midi Desktop software

1. Make sure that you are on the machine that you have QuickBooks installed on and that you are logged on as the Windows Administrator.
2. Run the Zed Midi Desktop installer file (msi) that you downloaded from the Zed Systems website, the installer will install the  Zed Midi desktop, it will also check to see if you have Microsoft SQL Server Express and the .Net framework installed if not it will then install those.  (Zed Midi requires both of these to function)
3. The first time you need to run Midi "As Administrator" to set up the database, right click on the Midi icon and select "Run As Administrator".
