How to install and connect to the Midi database

The first time you open Midi you will need to setup the connection for the Midi database.  This requires that you have installed Microsoft SQL Express, you can download a free version of this from the Microsoft website.
  1. Right click on the Midi icon and select Run As Administrator.  Click on the Admin menu
  2. Select the name of your database server.  If the name does not appear in the drop down list then you will need to type that in, this should take the form of <Machine Name>\MSSQLEXPRESS
  3. Select Windows Authentication as the option to logon to the database server.
  4. Select the drop down list of database names and choose midi, if the name does not appear then you can type in midi
  5. Click Test Connection to validate you connections settings
  6. Finally click Save.
  7. Close the Midi desktop and restart in normal mode by clicking the Midi icon.
  8. The next step is to connect to your QuickBooks company file and to update
