Importing deposits into QuickBooks

You can import deposits from text files or from Excel spreadsheets directly into QuickBooks using the Zed Axis software.  Download and install the Zed Axis software on your computer

  1. Open your QuickBooks company file as Administrator and open Zed Axis
  2. Select your text file or spreadsheet which contains the deposits that you want to import.
  3. Set up the a Mapping of the columns in your deposits import file to the corresponding fields in QuickBooks
  4. Click Import and your deposits will be directly added to your QuickBooks company file:

      QuickBooks Field   Type Description
      TxnDate DateType  The date of the transaction.
      DepositToAccount  StrType (159) MANDATORY FIELD Refers to the account where these funds will be (or have been) deposited, typically a bank account
      Memo Str 4095  Additional information
      CurrencyRef StrType (64)  Currency of the deposit
      Exchange Rate FloatType  The exchange rate is the market price for which this currency can be exchanged for the currency used by the QuickBooks company file as the "home" currency
      AccountRef Str (159)  MANDATORY FIELD the company files list of Chart of Accounts, for example Undeposited funds or Sales....
      Amount AmtType  A monetary amount.
      EntityRef Str (209)  a customer, vendor, employee, or person on the QuickBooks "other names" list
      CheckNumber Str 11  Reference number for the deposit
      PaymentMethodRef Str 31  The payment method
      ClassRef Str 159  Refers to the class used
      DepositLineMemo StrType (4095)  Memo used at the line level
